Prompter
Privacy policy
Effective 27 September 2026
The short version
Prompter has no accounts, no ads and no analytics. Studio Lab does not run any server for the app and does not collect, store or sell your data.
Camera and microphone
Prompter uses the camera and microphone only to record the video you start by pressing the record button.
Finished recordings are saved to your phone's gallery. They stay on your phone unless you choose to share them.
Voice follow
When voice follow is on and you are recording, your speech is turned into text by your phone's built-in speech recognition service. On most Android phones this service is provided by Google, and it may process the audio on Google's servers.
Prompter uses that text only to find your place in the script while you record. The text is not saved and is not sent to Studio Lab. Google's handling of the audio is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
You can switch to auto scroll at any time. With auto scroll on, no audio is sent for recognition.
Your scripts
Scripts you write are stored only inside the app on your phone. Deleting the app deletes them.
Permissions
Camera: to record video. Microphone: to record sound and, with voice follow, to follow your reading. Storage (Android 12 and older only): to save recordings to your gallery. Internet: used by the speech recognition service.
Children
Prompter is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
